Colorado Blue Spruces are among America's most popular evergreens for use in landscaping. They are planted individually and in groups. The blue spruce makes a great privacy barrier. Of all the spruces, Colorado Blues are the most draught tolerant and thus the best suited to the Arizona climate thanks to their intricate root structure. At maturity Colorado Blue Spruces can be 40 to 80 feet tall, and 15 to 30 feet wide. They provide summer homes for nesting songbirds, and their papery pine cones make a tasty snack for squirrels.
